In July of 1999, a company that made and sold drill bits to the printed circuit board industry had just created a new division that would sell drilling machines made by one company in Germany and one in Switzerland to the U. S. market. I accepted the position of division manager and during my first week of that job, I visited both companies in order to learn about their machines.
